This is a fully functional SAM driver for use with the Alva Braille Terminals series 3, 4 (Delphi) and Satellite series. This includes all the 20, 40, 44, 70, 80 and 84 cell models and includes the Traveller.
This driver uses the driver file ABTSER32.DLL and ABTUSB32.DLL supplied by Alva, the driver works in both Windows 95 and Windows NT.
The Alva Braille Terminal except for the satellite series, must be set to serial communications in order to use this driver. The satellite will be set to the correct port automatically. Consult the manual for details.
Please report any bugs to Dolphin. If it crashes please tell us the crash address and registers etc, from the crash message box, also report the driver version number (check with explorer - file properties).

Only serial and USB communications are supported at the moment.
The speech synthesiser in the Alva Delphi series is not used.
Key assignments
The following lists the default keys to press for each Braille operation.
Your screen reader may not support some of these operations.
The key assignments are the same for all ALVA series except for the satellite.
The front keys for the ABT3 and Delphi series are labelled from left to right:
PROG, HOME, CURSOR, UP, LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN.
80 cell displays have an additional three keys, CURSOR2, HOME2 and PROG2. These function exactly the same as the keys on the left.
The ABT3 and delphi series have the following default assignments:
Move to top left of window: HOME
Move to bottom left of window: HOME + DOWN
Move to focus: CURSOR
Left edge of window: HOME + LEFT
Right edge of window: HOME + RIGHT
Move one line up: UP
Move one line down: DOWN
Move left one character: CURSOR + LEFT
Move right one character: CURSOR + RIGHT
Read backwards: key LEFT
Read forwards: key RIGHT
Switch to Attribute mode 1: PROG + HOME
Switch to Attribute mode 2: PROG + CURSOR
Switch to report mode: HOME + CURSOR
Make cursor route single click: PROG + LEFT
Make cursor route double click: PROG + UP
Make cursor route right click: PROG + RIGHT
Activate configuration dialog: PROG
